
Chicago Fire Demonstrates Support for Chicago 2016 with "Back the Bid" Night

CHICAGO, IL (August 17, 2009) - The Chicago Fire is proud to announce its support for Chicago 2016, the committee working to bring the 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games to Chicago. Fans are encouraged to support Chicago's bid by coming out to cheer on the Chicago Fire as they take on D.C. United on Saturday, August 29th at 7:30 PM at Toyota Park.
Fans can help the cause by purchasing tickets at www.chicago2016.org/chicagofire and entering the special offer code: 2016. A portion of the ticket sales from this special offer will benefit Chicago 2016. Corner kick tickets are being sold for $28, Premier tickets are $35, and Center Circle tickets are $50.
"Securing the 2016 Olympic Games here in Chicago is critical and the Fire strongly supports Chicago 2016 in this effort," said Dave Greeley, President of the Chicago Fire. "We are taking advantage of multiple opportunities to assist the bid and hope that by having Chicago as the Host City, we will be able to showcase the world's game of soccer here in Chicago."
The Chicago Fire is committed to helping Chicago 2016 secure the Olympic and Paralympic Games as the process to select and announce the Host City comes to close on October 2nd. By purchasing match tickets through this offer, not only will fans be able to watch an exciting Fire game, but they will do their part to "Back the Bid."

The Fire is currently showcasing a video of the Fire team in support of Chicago's 2016 Olympic bid. Fans can view the video by visiting http://web.mlsnet.com/t100/load.jsp?section=community&content=events. This video will be shown at the remaining home games this season.
