Sounders FC 2 Announces Current Roster Ahead of 2018 Sounders FC

SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC 2 today announced its current roster ahead of the 2018 campaign, the club's first playing in Tacoma at Cheney Stadium. S2 currently has 10 players under contract, pending federation approval, heading into Sounders FC's 2018 preseason presented by adidas, which begins this morning at Starfire Sports.

S2 has the following nine returning from the 2017 roster: defenders Rodrigue Ele, Sam Rogers and Denso Ulysse; midfielders Azriel Gonzalez, Francisco Narbon and Ray Saari; forwards Felix Chenkam, Shandon Hopeau and David Olsen. Additionally, the Rave Green signed defender/midfielder and Academy product Nick Hinds to a USL contract in the offseason following two years of collegiate soccer at Akron, pending federation approval.

"We're very happy with the current crop of prospects that we have on our S2 roster, and we look forward to evaluating more players as preseason training gets started," said Sounders FC General Manager & President of Soccer Garth Lagerwey. "Over the past few years, we've seen the importance of S2 to our development process, and the move to Tacoma this season only presents new opportunities for our club and players."

Last Friday, The United Soccer League unveiled the complete 2018 Sounders FC 2 regular season schedule, featuring 17 home matches at Cheney Stadium during the club's first campaign in Tacoma. The 34-game slate begins on Friday, March 16 with a home match against Cascadia rival Portland Timbers 2.
