BMO acquires naming rights to Toronto fc's training grounds and becomes official partner of toronto fc academy
Following Toronto FC's MLS Cup victory, the club and its first-ever partner BMO, announced plans on Monday morning to expand its existing partnership. As part of this extended partnership, BMO is now the official Toronto FC Academy and the official l and exclusive partner of the club's state-of-the-art training facility, now re-named BMO Training Ground.
This investment into Toronto FC Academy and BMO Training Ground further represents BMO's commitment into developing soccer in the community and throughout Canada. This updated partnership will add to BMO's current, multi-faceted partnership with the organization that began in 2007, the club's inaugural season. Since then BMO renewed the deal to hold naming rights to BMO Field and remain the club's official partner until 2025. This past season, BMO renewed its sponsorship of the First Team kit, training kit and all practice and travel attire. Included in the agreement, BMO also sponsors TFC II, TFC III and all TFC Academy teams.
"We are thrilled to supplement our long-standing partnership with BMO at the training ground," said Bill Manning, Toronto FC President. "BMO has become an integral partner in the development of soccer in Canada and our franchise is fortunate to have their continuous support".
Opened in 2012 and located on 14 acres of land at Downsview Park, BMO Training Ground is a $21 million facility that is on par with the top soccer practice facilities in the world. BMO Training Ground includes three full size grass fields (two heated), one artificial field with an air supported bubble for year-round use, and a 40,000 square foot field house that is equipped with locker rooms, training facilities and team offices.
