BRIDGEPORT, CT - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, shutout the Albany River Rats 1-0 at home Saturday in front of the largest crowd in team history. 8,239 fans packed Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard to see the Sound Tigers return from a stretch of six straight road games.
The Sound Tigers jumped on Albany on the first shift of the game as Blaine Down opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season at the 30-second mark off assists from Ben Guite and Kevin Colley. Alternate Captain Alain Nasreddine was originally credited with the second assist but requested a scoring change after the final buzzer giving the helper to Colley.
