'Dogs edge Ducks in front of 7,420 at Gardens

CINCINNATi, Ohio -- Euro Somervuori and Alexander Perezhogin scored in the second period to lift the Hamilton Bulldogs to a 3-2 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Saturday at Cincinnati Gardens.

Marcel Hossa also scored for Hamilton, which extended its unbeaten streak to four games (3-0-1-0). The goal was the first in 18 games for Hossa, a first-round pick by Montreal in 2000.

Igor Pohanka in the first period and Pierre Parenteau in the third for Cincinnati, which snapped a five-game home unbeaten streak (3-0-2-0) and lost in regulation for just the second time in its last 11 games (5-2-3-1).

Eric Fichaud, making his first start since December 26, made 27 saves to pick up his 12th win.

Ilya Bryzgalov, a second-round pick by Anaheim in 2000, stopped 40 shots in the loss.

The Ducks begin a two-game road trip Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Cleveland.
