
Savage leads P-Bruins past Worcester

The Providence Bruins and Worcester IceCats played the front end of a home-and-home series on Saturday night in Worcester, with the Bruins scoring a season-high six goals en route to a 6-2 victory. Providence also equaled a season-high by scoring four first period goals. The Bruins are now 21-12-10-1 on the season, putting them in second place in the Atlantic Division, three points behind division-leading Hartford.
Six different players registered multiple-point games, led by center Andre Savage, who tallied a goal (11) and three assists. The four-point night tied him for third place on the Bruins' franchise career scoring list with 65-94-159 totals in 165 games. He is tied with former Bruin Cameron Mann. Savage has 2-4-6 totals in his last two games.
Bruin forward Brendan Walsh scored his eighth goal of the season, and sixth in his last seven games. It was also his third straight game finding the back of the net. Left wing Darren VanOene added his sixth goal of the season, while defenseman Zdenek Kutlak notched his first career multiple-goal game, scoring his fourth and fifth of the year. Fellow defenseman Kevin Dallman added his fourth goal of the season.
Goaltender Tim Thomas stopped 35 shots for his third straight win. His record is now 11-6-5.
The Bruins and IceCats return to the Dunkin' Donuts Center on Sunday afternoon at 4:05 p.m.
