Sound Tigers Up Win Steak To Five With Weekend Sweep

The Sound Tigers improved their winning streak to five games, including four straight victories at home, with a pair of wins at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard beating the Hartford Wolf Pack 3-2 in overtime Friday and the Saint John Flames 5-3 Saturday. The Sound Tigers finished the week in second place in the East Division and fifth place in the Eastern Conference with 61 points and a 25-17-9-2 record including 15-6-3-1 at home, 10-11-6-1 on the road and 6-2-1-1 in the last ten games.

FRI FEB 7th vs. HFD, 3-2 OTW: The Sound Tigers rallied from a 2-0 first-period deficit to win. JEREMY ADDUONO, who had an earlier goal waived off, and KONSTANTIN KALMIKOV scored in regulation, DANIEL TKACZUK had two assists, JEFF HAMILTON notched his second overtime goal of the season, and SCOTT STIRLING made 17 saves for the Sound Tigers who were 1 for 7 on the power play, 1 for 1 on the penalty kill and had a 29-19 shots on goal advantage. It was the second time this season the Sound Tigers won 3-2 in overtime after trailing 2-0 having accomplished the same feat on November 27th at home against the Manchester Monarchs.

SAT FEB 8th vs. SJN, 5-3 W: Ten Sound Tigers recorded a point including five different goal scorers. TRENT HUNTER, KONSTANTIN KALMIKOV, JEREMY ADDUONO, J.F. CAUDRON and RAFFI TORRES scored goals, Adduono added an assist, ERIC MANLOW had three assists, BRANDON SMITH had two assists, and SCOTT STIRLING made 24 saves for the Sound Tigers who were 2 for 8 on the power play, 4 for 5 on the penalty kill and outshot Saint John 30-27.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK – LW JEREMY ADDUONO

Adduono ran his goal and point streaks to three games each with two goals and an assist in a pair of games last week. He has eight goals, four assists, 12 points and eight penalty minutes in 27 games with the Sound Tigers this season including three goals and two assists during his current streaks.

THIS WEEK – Sound Tigers Open Eight Game In Ten Day Stretch

The Sound Tigers will embark on a busy stretch of eight games in ten days with three games in three days this weekend. They will visit the Providence Bruins Friday and the Springfield Falcons Saturday before hosting the expansion San Antonio Rampage for the first-time ever Sunday.

FRI FEB 14th at PRO, 7:05 p.m.: This will be the third of four meetings, the first of two in Providence, this regular season. The Sound Tigers are 1-3-2 all-time versus the "P-Bruins" including 1-0-1 this season posting their first win in the all-time series in the most recent meeting, 1-0 at home on December 4th. Providence enters this week in first place in the North Division and second place in the Eastern Conference with 75 points and a 33-12-7-2 record including an AHL-best 21-3-4-1 at home and 7-2-1-0 in the last ten games. The Bruins also enter the week unbeaten, 3-0-1-0, in their last four games. Providence is also unbeaten at home in a league-leading 16 straight games since a 3-2 loss to the Worcester IceCats on December 1st. The Bruins do not play again until Friday.

SAT FEB 15th at SPR, 7:35 p.m.: This will be the fourth of eight meetings, the second of four in Springfield, this regular season. The Sound Tigers are 7-3-1 all-time, including 3-0 this season, versus the Falcons who enter this week in fourth place in the East Division and tenth place in the Eastern Conference with 51 points and a 23-26-5-0 record including 16-9-2-0 at home and 6-2-2-0 in the last ten games. Springfield is unbeaten, 4-0-1-0, in its last five games which ties them with the Sound Tigers for the longest, active streak in the AHL. The Falcons will host the Lowell Lock Monsters Friday.

SUN FEB 16th vs. SAN, 4:05 p.m.: This will be the third of four meetings, the first of two in Bridgeport, this regular season. It will also be expansion San Antonio's first-ever visit to Harbor Yard. The Sound Tigers are 0-2 versus the Rampage losing a pair of games during their first-ever visit to the state of Texas in December . San Antonio enters this week tied with the Utah Grizzlies for third place in the West Division and sixth place in the Western Conference with 56 points and a 23-21-8-2 record including 8-16-4-2 on the road. Sunday's game will be the first of two straight in Bridgeport at the end of a 12-game road trip and a stretch of 15 of 16 games on the road for the Rampage who will visit the Norfolk Admirals Wednesday and the Hartford Wolf Pack Saturday. COMMUNITY CALENDAR & PROMOTIONAL NEWS

The Sound Tigers will honor unused birthday party reservations from the Friday, February 7th game versus Hartford at all Friday home games during the month of February. They will also honor unused tickets from the Friday, February 7th home game at all Friday home games during the remainder of the regular season. The Sound Tigers will hold "Celebrity Bartenders II" this Tuesday at 8 p.m. at Amberjacks in South Norwalk with proceeds benefiting Children's Connection of Norwalk. Players will serve as bartenders and be available for autographs and photos, and on-air personalities from 95.9 "The Fox" will take part. There will also be an auction of Sound Tigers' memorabilia, Islanders' memorabilia, items donated by Bud Light and more. Sunday will be "Danbury Area Appreciation Day" with discounted tickets for area residents who show proper identification at the box office. Discounted tickets for Sunday's game are also on sale a The Danbury Ice Arena. Cartoon Network's Cow and Chicken will also be at the game.

All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com. This Tuesday's edition of "The Sound Tigers Report" on "The ZONE" will be broadcast live from Amberjacks in South Norwalk from 7 p.m. until 8 p.m. as part of "Celebrity Bartenders II". WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 also broadcasts road games.
