Last Week: The Bears enjoyed two wins in two games beginning with a 2-1 victory at Rochester on Friday night. The win marked the first time this season that HERSHEY enjoyed the taste of victory when trailing after two periods. Brett Clark scored a power play goal to tie the game at one, then Steve Brule scored the game winning goal with just under a minute and a half remaining in regulation. Phil Sauve earned his 17th win of the season at Blue Cross Arena Friday night. The Bears then returned home Saturday night and defeated the Philadelphia Phantoms 2-1. For the second consecutive night, HERSHEY came from behind to record the win, as Mark Freer tied the game at one early in the second period. The Bears got the game winning goal from Brent Thompson midway through the second on a shot from the blue line. Thompson's goal came on the power play, as HERSHEY registered a power play goal for the second consecutive game.

Notables: The Bears raised nearly $30,000 dollars on Sunday night for the Christine Ostwinkle Foundation for Lupus. The team hosted it's charity dinner "What if..you BEAR your heart" and raised money by waiting tables, a silent auction for autographed merchandise, and singing karaoke. Fan favorite Bruce Richardson performed numerous Elvis Presley tunes that brought down the house. Christine Ostwinkle passed away from Lupus in 2000, and was Brent Thompson's sister-in-law..... Brian Willsie had a four game point streak snapped Saturday night against Philadelphia.... Peter Budaj won his first game since January 11th on Saturday night. The win was Budaj's seventh of the season...... HERSHEY won back to back games for the first time since January 10th and 11th. After Saturday's sellout crowd of 10,545 at GIANT Center, the Bears are on pace to draw 303,447 fans for the season at home. The club has 11 home games remaining...... The win on Saturday night was the third straight victory over Philadelphia. The Bears are now 3-1-1 in it's last five games..... Steve Brule is HERSHEY'S nominee for Sher-wood AHL player of the week honors. Brule scored the game winning goal Friday night in Rochester, and assisted on both goals Saturday night in the Bears' 2-1 victory against the Phantoms.

Colorado Update: The Avalanche start the week with a nine game unbeaten streak after a 4-2 win over the Calgary Flames on Sunday night. Defenseman Derek Morris is expected to play tomorrow night for the first time since suffering a facial injury. Morris was placed on injured reserve January 25th.
