The Flames enter the week ranked third in the Canadian Division with 42 points and a record of 19 wins, 27 losses, 3 ties and 1 overtime loss.

Saint John visits the St. John's Maple Leafs this week for games on Tuesday and Wednesday before returning home to host the Manchester Monarchs in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday, the Flames travel to Lowell for a matchup with the Lock Monsters to end the week.

THE OPPONENT...

The ST. JOHN'S MAPLE LEAFS

enter the week ranked fourth in the Canadian Division with 42 points and a record of 18-30-5-1. The Maple Leafs, 5-4-1-0 in their last ten games, are coming off a 4-1 loss versus Albany on Saturday.

These will be the seventh and eighth of twelve meetings between the Canadian Division rivals this season.

Leading St. John's are left wing Brad Leeb (25g- 17a=42pts) and centres Brad Boyes (17g- 22a=39pts) and Josh Holden (15g-18a=33pts).

Jamie Hodson and Mikael Tellqvist handle the goaltending duties for St. John's. Tellqvist, 10-19-3 through 34 games, posts a 3.40 GAA and a .909 save percentage. Hodson, 1-2-1 through 6 games, posts a 2.56 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

Entering the week, Leeb ranks third in the League among goal scorers with 25 and first in powerplay goals with 12, Tellqvist ranks second among League goaltenders in saves with 1094 and losses with 19 and Boyes ranks 6th among AHL rookies in scoring.

The MANCHESTER MONARCHS enter the week ranked second in the North Division with 65 points and a record of 28-12-6-3.

The Monarchs, 4-3-3-0 in their last ten games, are coming off a 3-2 loss vs. Providence on Saturday. Friday and Saturday's back-to-back games between the clubs will be the final two of six meetings between the teams this season.

Leading Manchester are left wings Pavel Rosa (18g-21a=39pts) and Eric Healey (21g-14a-35pts), defenceman Tomas Zizka (11g-25a=36pts) and centre Steve Kelly (12g-22a=34pts).

Travis Scott and Cristobal Huet handle the netminding duties for Manchester. Scott is 14-8-2 through 26 games, posting a 2.61 GAA and a .916 save percentage while Huet, is 14-7-4 through 26 games, posts a 2.38 GAA and a .918 save percentage.

Entering the week, Zizka is tied for third among League defencemen in scoring, ranks third among defencemen in goals (11) and ranks second among defencemen in shot percentage (14.3%).

The LOWELL LOCK MONSTERS enter the week ranked fifth in the North Division with 33 points and a record of 13-36-4-3. The Lock Monsters, 1-6-1-2 in their last ten games, are coming off a 3-2 loss to Saint John on Sunday.

The Flames meet with the Lock Monsters on Sunday, will be the fifth of six meetings with Lowell this season.

Leading Lowell are forward Ryan Bayda (11g-32a=43pts) and centres Mike Zigomanis (11g-16a=27pts) and Jeff Daw (12g-10a=22pts).

Patrick DesRochers and Randy Petruk handle the Lock Monsters goaltending responsibilities. DesRochers is 3-10-1 through 14 games and sports a 2.69 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Petruk is 3-15-2 through 22 games and posts a 3.11 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

Entering the week, Bayda ranks second among League rookies in assists and is tied for fourth among AHL rookies in scoring.

NOTABLES...

The Flames scored 3 consecutive goals, erasing a 2-goal deficit to defeat the Lock Monsters by a score of 3-2 on Sunday.

Flames left wing Martin Sonnenberg recorded 2 goals, including a short-handed marker to tie the game, in the Flames 3-2 win at Lowell on Sunday.

Sam St. Pierre, a member of Saint John's ECHL affiliate, Johnstown, made his AHL debut on Sunday in the Flames 3-2 win at Lowell.

Jan Vodrazka and Jason Morgan have appeared in all 50 of Saint John's games to date this season.

Ian Manzano and J.F. Boutin, both on PTOs, recorded assists for Saint John on Sunday at Lowell.

Pierre-Luc Courchesne, on PTO with the Flames, recorded 2 assists on Saturday @ Bridgeport. The assists marked Courchesne's first AHL points and his first AHL multiple point game.

ALUMNI WATCH...

Former Flames Jarrod Skalde (1995/96-1996/97) and Ian Gordon (1995/96- 1996/97) skated with Canada's National Men's Team at the 2003 Swiss Cup last week in Basel, Switzerland.
