Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

The Edmonton Oilers, a parent club of the AHL's Hamilton Bulldogs, have assigned defenceman Kari Haakana to Hamilton.

Haakana, a 29-year-old native of Outokumpu, Finland, joins the Bulldogs after being activated from the NHL Injured Reserve List today. Haakana, a 6'1", 222 pound defenceman, missed 20 games with the Oilers (Dec. 28-Feb. 8) after he suffered fractured ribs on December 26th vs. the Vancouver Canucks. In 12 games with Edmonton this season, Haakana earned four penalty minutes, while going scoreless. Haakana also played two games with the Bulldogs earlier this season (Dec. 4 - Dec. 6), while on a conditioning loan and had one assist, along with two penalty minutes.

The Hamilton Bulldogs next action takes place tomorrow night, as they host the Rochester Americans at Copps Coliseum. Game time is 7:00 p.m. For tickets visit the Copps Coliseum Box Office or call TicketMaster at (905) 527-7666.
