Pelletier Named Player of Week

Springfield, MA – The Springfield Falcons announced today that goaltender Jean-Marc Pelletier has been named the Sherwood AHL Player of the Week for the period ending Sunday, February 9th.

Pelletier posted a record of 2-0-1 with a 1.33 goals against average and .958 save percentage last week helping the Falcons extend their unbeaten streak to five games (4-0-1). He stopped 91 of 95 shots last week. Pelletier started last week posting a shutout on Wednesday, February 5th making 23 saves in a 4-0 win over the Binghamton Senators. Pelletier came back on Friday night and made 32 saves in a 2-1 win over Lowell. He ended the week making 29 saves in a 3-3 tie against Manitoba. Pelletier was voted a star in two of the three games played.

Pelletier has played in 10 games with the Falcons since being acquired by the Phoenix Coyotes from Carolina in exchange for Patrick DesRochers on December 31, 2002 and has posted a record of 7-1-2 with a 1.87 goals against average and .941 save percentage. He was originally the Philadelphia Flyers' 1st pick (30th overall) in the 1997 NHL Entry Draft.
