Sound Tigers Step Up Radio Broadcasts

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced John Wiedeman and Chris King, the play-by-play announcer and color analyst on the big club's radio broadcasts, will join the Voice of the Sound Tigers Bill McLaughlin for select broadcasts this season. Wiedeman and King called their first Sound Tigers games this past weekend, serving as analysts for the season-opening 4-1 win over the Albany River Rats Saturday and 4-2 victory over the Philadelphia Phantoms Sunday.

The Sound Tigers have also announced that their broadcast schedule is free of radio pre-emptions through November 19th. All games are broadcast live at www.soundtigers.com. Most games are also broadcast live on 600 WICC-AM. Each broadcast begins 15 or 20 minutes prior to opening face-off on the quarter hour, and fans can email questions and comments via the "Ask The Broadcaster" link on the front page of www.soundtigers.com.

This is Wiedeman's fourth season with the Islanders while King is in his sixth season on the big club's radio team. 2004-05 is McLaughlin's third as the Voice of the Sound Tigers.

The Sound Tigers will visit Albany tomorrow at 7 p.m. then return home to host the Hartford Wolf Pack this Saturday at 7:05 p.m. and the Binghamton Senators this Sunday at 4:05 p.m. before heading out of town for five straight road games.
