
Coach Fixter takes leave of absence, Jerrard to coach Friday night

HERSHEY â The HERSHEY BEARS announced today that head coach Paul Fixter has taken a leave of absence from the team for family medical reasons. The announcement was made today by BEARS President/GM Doug Yingst.
Fixter will miss Friday's game against the Binghamton Senators at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena and possibly Saturday's home game against the Philadelphia Phantoms. Assistant coach Paul Jerrard will serve as interim head coach while Fixter is away with Colorado Avalanche director of player personnel and former NHL goaltender Craig Billington serving as Jerrard's assistant coach.
The BEARS play at Binghamton Friday night beginning at 7:05 p.m. Air-time on the BEARS radio network is at 6:45 p.m. Tickets are still available for Philadelphia's first visit of the season to GIANT Center Saturday night by calling (717) 534-3911 or by visiting the GIANT Center box office.
