Ottawa Lynx News Release

OTTAWA - Lynx Stadium will be the safest place in the city Saturday afternoon. This coming Saturday, August 4th, will be Emergency Services Day at Lynx Stadium.

Kids and grown-ups alike will enjoy the getting up close to local ambulances, fire trucks, police cars and military police vehicles before the Lynx take on the Syracuse Chiefs-Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays.

Representatives from Ottawa Paramedic Service, Ottawa Fire Department, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Ottawa Police and Canadian Forces Military Police will also have interactive displays on the Lynx Stadium concourse to teach Lynx fans about their important work.

Emergency services personnel can take advantage of their own day with $5 tickets. Anyone presenting valid work identification from one of the emergency services can buy a ticket for only five bucks!

"These brave men and women have some of the most dangerous jobs in the world," said Lynx General Manager Kyle Bostwick. "We're proud to provide a forum for them to show fans just how hard they work and we would love to see them take in a ballgame."

First pitch Saturday afternoon is scheduled for 1:05 pm and doors open at noon.

This is the first season the Lynx are the Triple-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. The Lynx Box Office is Open Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm and Saturdays 10 am to 4 pm. Ticket information can be found at www.ottawalynx.com or by calling 613 747-LYNX (5969).
