Familiar Faces Haunt Yankees
August 1, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
In a game that featured the Lynx Stadium debut of Javon Moran, Matt Padgett and Mike Zagurski, it was a group of familiar faces that propelled the Lynx to victory. OF Pedro Swann and IF Joey Hammond each had three hits and a run batted in, while RHP Matt Childers kept the Scranton offence off balance. The Lynx took the lead with runs in the second, third and fifth innings. Swann cashed Jason Jaramillo in the second, Brennan King homered in the third and Hammond scored on a double play to extend the lead to three. Scranton cut into the lead with a home run in the top of the sixth but the Cats came back with a pair in the bottom of the frame. Hammond brought Swann home with an RBI single and Carlos Leon scored on a wild pitch. The Yankees rally properly snuffed, the Lynx bullpen took it from there, culminating in Brian Sanches's 13th save of the season.
