Durham Bulls News Release
Durham, NC - Trailing 2-0 after three innings, Columbus exploded for eight runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to hand Durham their second loss in a row, 8-3 on Wednesday night at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Bulls are 59-52, three games behind Richmond for the division lead and a game behind Buffalo and Rochester for the wild card.
Durham took the lead in the third inning on a two-run single by Wes Bankston, one of his three hits on the night. Columbus responded with three runs in the fourth inning highlighted by back-to-back homers from Larry Broadway and Abraham Nunez. They tacked on another run in the fifth inning on Nunez's RBI-single, then put the game away with four runs in the sixth inning highlighted by Michael Restovich's three-run blast.
RHP Hector Carrasco (1-0) picked up his first win in relief of the starter Levale Speigner, pitching two and one-third scoreless innings. RHP Jae Seo took the loss allowing six runs on 10 hits, including two home runs.
