Orlando Solar Bears News Release

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears, proud affiliate of the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs and AHL's Toronto Marlies, have announced that they will hold practice at the Daytona International Skateway, located at 2400 South Ridgewood Avenue, South Daytona, FL 32119, on Monday, Dec. 14 from 5:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m.

This is the first time that the Solar Bears will practice in the Greater Daytona area. Admission to watch the Solar Bears practice is free, and immediately following the practice, Solar Bears players and Shades will be available for pictures and autographs with fans.

"We are pleased to continue our relationship with the Daytona International Skateway, and we thank Owner and Vice President Justin Cirillo and his team for hosting us," Solar Bears President/CEO Jason Siegel said. "We have had tremendous support from fans traveling from Volusia County to our games at the Amway Center. In appreciation of their loyalty, we'll be holding an open practice at the Skateway for fans so they can watch a practice in person and meet our players and coaches."

"We're in our second year of partnering with the Solar Bears, and it's been an excellent partnership thus far with the exposure of the Solar Bears at our rink, which in turn has led to our kids participating in the Mites on Ice and Rink of Dreams programs at Solar Bears games," Cirillo said. "It's a great opportunity for both organizations to grow youth hockey in Central Florida and we're excited to host the Solar Bears for the first time on Monday."

The Solar Bears return from a six-game road trip to host the Florida Everblades in the third match of the Wawa Sunshine Cup Series as they continue their fourth season in the ECHL, presented by Auto Justice Attorney Michael T. Gibson, P.A. on Sunday, Dec. 27 at 6:00 p.m. at the Amway Center.
