
Solar Bears Announce Schedule

Orlando Solar Bears News Release
Orlando, FL - The Orlando Solar Bears announced today that the ECHL has released the 2013-14 schedule. The Solar Bears will open the season at home on Saturday, October 26 at 7:00pm and Sunday, October 27 at 3:00pm against their South Division rival, the Gwinnett Gladiators. The team will start the season on the road against the Florida Everblades on October 18 and 19.
The Solar Bears home game schedule features a family friendly mix of ten (10) Fridays, eleven (11) Saturdays, and seven (7) Sundays. Other home highlights include: Thanksgiving Week games on Tuesday, November 26 and Thanksgiving Night, November 28; a six-game Holiday home stand beginning Sunday, December 22 and concluding on Saturday, January 4; and a Spring Break game for Orange County Schools on Wednesday, March 26. The regular season ends with a three game home stand on the weekend of April 11- 13.
"We are pleased with the number of weekend games assigned to us by the League," said Bob Ohrablo, COO and Managing Partner of the Solar Bears. "While we are aware some of the dates may change once the NBA/Orlando Magic schedule is finalized, we do appreciate all of the assistance provided by our partners at the ECHL, Amway Center and Orlando Magic."
The Solar Bears will faceoff against South Division rivals the Florida Everblades 14 times (6 home, 8 road), Gwinnett Gladiators 12 times (6 home, 6 road), South Carolina Stingrays 12 times (6 home, 6 road) and Greenville Road Warriors 8 times (4 home, 4 road).
The longest home stand is six (6) games and the Solar Bears will hit the road for their longest trip (nine games) beginning Tuesday, March 4 at Florida and ending Saturday, March 22 at South Carolina.
Solar Bears home games played Monday through Thursday and Saturday will start at 7:00pm. Friday games will start at 7:30pm. Sunday games will start at 3:00pm, except Sunday, December 22, which will start at 7:00pm.
