CONDORSTOWN, Calif. - We will make the playoffs this season, we guarantee it. Or you will get free tickets.
Purchase a Condors ticket plan, Pick-6 or larger, for the 2013-14 season, and if we do not qualify for the 2014 Kelly Cup Playoffs, your six games in 2014-15 will be FREE.
Because we treat our season ticket holders better than any team in the universe, those who have renewed their plans or purchased plans already for this upcoming season are eligible for the guarantee as well. Who's better than us?
Since 2011-12, the Condors have the fewest wins of any team in the ECHL over that time period and for the first time in team history, missed the playoffs in consecutive seasons. Last season, the team managed just 22 wins and finished 23rd in the 23-team ECHL.
"We will make the playoffs, I guarantee it," said Condors President Matthew Riley. "But if we don't, it's no skin off our back, because all of the free tickets will come out of JO's paycheck."
JO is team general manager, John Olver, who was hired on April 11 and charged with putting a winning team on the ice. When pressed for comment, JO said "30 years in the hockey business and I have never missed the playoffs. I don't expect that streak to end this season," while team owner Jonathan Fleisig remarked that "Condorstown deserves a winner and we'll do whatever it takes to make that happen."
Note: With the guarantee you will receive 6 games for free if you purchase a Pick-6 Plan or larger. The guarantee includes those who have already renewed or purchased new tickets, contingent upon renewal for 2014-15. Offer valid through July 31, 2013.
