Amarillo, TX - The Amarillo Sod Poodles rallied with a four run eighth inning to top the Arkansas Travelers, 6-5 on Friday night. The Travs had led the entire night until there were two out in the bottom of the eighth. Arkansas out hit the Amarillo 14-8 left 11 runners on base. Jonatan Clase and Spencer Packard connected for three hits each to lead the Travs offense with Josh Morgan driving in three in a two hit game including a home run. Arkansas starter Jimmy Joyce pitched very well throwing 6.2 innings and allowing only two runs while striking out seven but settled for no decision.
Moments That Mattered
* Morgan hit an opposite field two-run home run in the second to put the Travs out to an early lead.
* The decisive inning for Amarillo came on just three hits (two with two out), a walk, a while pitch and two errors. Neyfy Castillo drove in the tying runs on a single and Juan Centeno doubled in the go-ahead run.
