West Michigan Whitecaps News Release
DAYTON, OH - A late afternoon snow squall dumped nearly an inch of snow on the playing surface Fifth Third Field and the Whitecaps game against the Dragons has been postponed.
The two teams will play a single game on Saturday in the scheduled finale of the series. A day-night doubleheader has been planned, pending league approval, for Saturday, June 9. One game would be played at noon with the second game at 7:00 p.m.
Every game ever played at Fifth Third Field has been a sellout and every game this season is sold out, leading to the request by the Dragons to play a split doubleheader.
One More Try: The final game of the series is scheduled to be played Saturday at 7:00 p.m. RHP Lauren Gagnier (NR) is the expected starter for the Whitecaps and will face RHP Jordan Smith (NR). The Davenport University Career Startup Show begins at 6:50 p.m. on 1340 AM WBBL and at wbbl.com and the Whitecaps Radio Network.
