Quad Cities River Bandits News Release
With temperatures in the 30's and wind gusts of up to 30 mph expected, Friday night's scheduled game between the Swing of the Quad Cities and the Clinton LumberKings at Alliant Energy Field was postponed. The contest will be made up as part of a doubleheader Saturday beginning at Noon.
Following a game consisting of cold temperatures and wintry wind chills Thursday night, the Swing look forward to playing under the sun on Saturday afternoon. After going 12-6 in doubleheader games last season - including 6-2 on the road - Keith Mitchell and his squad are more than happy to play two.
Saturday's doubleheader will consist of two seven-inning contests with a half-hour break in between. The Swing of the Quad Cities will keep their rotation as planned, throwing P.J. Walters and Elvis Hernandez in game one before Brad Furnish and Tyler Herron take the mound for game two.
