Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Timely hitting Wednesday night helped the Snappers pull out a victory over the Swing of The Quad Cities, 4-3. The Snappers first lead came in the eight inning in a rather unusual way. The Snappers tied the game as a result of Javi Sanchez bases loaded walk, and the next batter, Steve Tolleson, walked again giving the Snappers a 4-3 lead. J.P. Martinez came in to close out the game in the top of the ninth. Martinez allowed one hit while striking out two and collected his 19th save of the season. David Winfree and Trevor Plouffe each had two hits for the Snappers. The Snappers now lead the series two games two one, gaining another game on the first place Swing.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and the Swing will wrap up the series tomorrow night at 7 PM. Following the game will be fireworks and the Sara Lee Bread Giveaway.
