
Snappers Snap River Bandits Seven Game Win Streak 4-3

BELOIT, WI - The Beloit Snappers (22-21) scored four runs in the first half of the game and held off a late rally from the Quad Cities River Bandits (27-14) to secure a 4-3 win in Tuesday's series opener. The Snappers snapped the River Bandits' seven-game win streak.
The Snappers got on the board in the bottom of the second inning with Griffin Conine's 12th home run of the season to take a 1-0 lead. Beloit then a run in the next three innings to take a 4-0 lead into the sixth.
In the top of the sixth, Quad Cities scored on an RBI double from Nick Loftin, making it 4-0, Snappers. A couple of hits and two defensive miscues brought home two runs in the eighth for the River Bandits to narrow the gap to 4-3. However, Justin Evans picked up a save in the ninth inning, stranding the tying run on first.
Beloit's Top Performers: Antonio Velez pitched five scoreless innings to earn his second win of the year. Kameron Misner went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Ricky Aracena extended his hit streak to six games with a 2-for-4 night.
