Beloit Sky Carp News Release

CEDAR RAPIDS, IA - After hitting four home runs on Sunday night, the Snappers gave up four home runs on Tuesday in the series-opening loss to the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 4-2.

After a Jair Camargo home run for Cedar Rapids, Thomas Jones hit a sac fly to score Devin Hairston and tie the game at 1-1 in the third. That was when the power fest began for the Kernels. Cedar Rapids hit home runs in each of the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings off Zach McCambley.

The Snappers tried to climb back with an RBI double by Bubba Hollins in the seventh inning. They even had the tying run at the plate in the ninth, but the Snappers couldn't get it done and would fall 4-2.

Beloit's Top Performers: Kameron Misner went 1-for-3 with a walk. Hollins went 1-for-2 with two walks. Antonio Velez threw two scoreless innings in relief.

The Snappers face Cedar Rapids again on Wednesday with the first pitch at 6:35 p.m. Beloit will be back at home against the Peoria Chiefs on Tuesday, May 25 at 6:35 p.m. For more information on tickets or group outings, please call our front office at 608.362.2272 or visit SnappersBaseball.com.
