The game remained scoreless until Danny Santiesteban's sacrifice fly to center in the top of the fifth inning. Steve's two stolen bases gave him five on the year.

The game remained 1-0 until the bottom of the ninth inning when the Whitecaps would make things interesting. West Michigan's James Skelton singled home Scott Sizemore off of Beloit reliever, Jesus Carnevales, and tied the game up at 1-1. Sizemore led the inning off with a single to second. Skelton's RBI single sent the two teams into their third consecutive extra inning affair.

West Michigan scored the winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning on a rundown error from Beloit reliever, Jose Lugo. Lugo pitched out and caught Whitecaps' DH, Scott Sizemore, in a rundown between third and home. While trying to get Sizemore, Lugo dropped the ball and allowed Sizemore to plate the winning run.
