Familiar Face Rejoins Wizards

Fort Wayne, IN - Infielder Ray Stokes was returned to the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League and infielder Jonathan Schemmel was sent back to Fort Wayne from the Lake Elsinore Storm of the California League, San Diego Padres officials announced today.

Stokes appeared in one game for the Wizards, starting at second base in the team's 7-6, 10-inning loss to the Cedar Rapids Kernels on Sunday.

Schemmel returns for his second stint with the Wizards this season. In his first 30 games with Fort Wayne earlier this year, the former New York Mets product hit .255 with three doubles and six runs batted in.

With the Storm, Schemmel appeared in nine games, hitting .344 with four runs batted in and a stolen base. He split time at second base and shortstop for Lake Elsinore.
