West Michigan Whitecaps News Release

COMSTOCK PARK, MI - The West Michigan Whitecaps franchise will reach a milestone Tuesday when their sixth millionth fan walks through the gates at Fifth Third Ballpark. The Whitecaps are just 2,016 fans away from six million and will celebrate the achievement by honoring the lucky fan during Tuesday's game against Kane County at 7 p.m.

The 2,016th fan into Fifth Third Ballpark Tuesday will win a Whitecaps Prize Package with many prizes, including an MP3 player, Whitecaps season ticket packages and much more. The lucky fan will also be honored with an on-field presentation and the opportunity to throw out a first pitch before the Whitecaps game.

"We are thrilled to honor our sixth millionth Whitecaps fan," said Lew Chamberlin, Whitecaps CEO/Managing Partner. "This is a tribute to all our fans for their continued support throughout the years. This shows the type of community West Michigan is to embrace us from day one. Six million fans is a phenomenal achievement and now we look forward to six million more."

The West Michigan franchise currently sits at 5,997,984 fans since their first season in 1994. The Whitecaps also celebrated their fifth millionth fan back on Aug. 27, 2004 with a pre-game ceremony.

Gates for Tuesday's game will open at 5:30 p.m. For more information on the sixth millionth fan and Tuesday's game, please contact the Whitecaps PR Department at 616-784-4131.
