The first half West Wild Card winners came into Pohlman Field and took a 5-1 victory over a tough pitching performance by Snappers starter B.J. Hermsen Thursday night.

The Snappers took an early 1-0 lead early in the second before Frederick Parejo jacked a one-out homer to left field. The River Bandits extended their lead by scoring three runs in the eighth to pad their lead.

Snappers' second baseman Derek McCallum went perfect at the dish as he went 3-for-3 with a walk as Anderson Hidalgo and Michael Gonzales both collected doubles.

The "Brodie Trophy Player of the Game" is B.J. Hermsen even with the loss Hermsen pitched 7 2/3 innings and struck out five batters as he yielded no walks.

The Snappers look to even the series tomorrow night as Minnesota Twins starting shortstop J.J. Hardy is expected to make his final rehab appearance before heading back to Target Field. Game time is set for 7:00PM with gates opening at 6:00 PM.
