Bees Overcome Six-Run Deficit in Heart-Stopping Win

Burlington, IA (July 1, 2010) - The Bees plated seven runs over the final three innings on Thursday night in overcoming a six-run deficit to take down the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers 7-6 at Community Field.

Trailing 6-0, the Bees finally reached the scoreboard for the first time in the seventh after being dominated for the first six innings by Rattlers ace Jake Odorizzi. Drew Robertson, in his Bees debut, picked up his first RBI on an infield single.

The next inning, the Bees capitalized on a bout of wildness from the Timber Rattlers bullpen to level the contest at six each in what would become their biggest comeback of the year. The Rattlers walked four in the frame, including Luis Del Rosario with the bases loaded. With two outs, Gerard Hall provided one of the biggest hits of the year when he singled to center to drive home a pair and knot the game at six.

The Bees then needed only three batters in the ninth to pick up their second walk-off victory of the season. Carlo Testa drew a leadoff walk, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored on Rene Oriental's dribbler into left field.

Rodolfo Encarnacion (W, 1-1) pitched a scoreless ninth inning after Onassis Sirrett walked the leadoff man. Keaton Hayenga pitched well after a four-run first, shutting Wisconsin down for four innings to maintain the deficit.

The Bees and Timber Rattlers lock horns again tomorrow with a fireworks extravaganza to follow the game courtesy of Catfish Bend Casino.
