AVON, Ohio - The Lake Erie Crushers, presented by Mercy Health, fell into a deep early hole for the second straight night, and dropped the second game of the series to the Schaumburg Boomers, 9-4 at Sprenger Stadium on Wednesday night.

The loss for the Crushers (20-15) was their sixth in their last eight games at home, while the victory for the Boomers (18-16) was their sixth in a row against the Crushers.

The Boomers sent 11 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning and scored seven times on four hits to take an early lead. Collin Ferguson followed with a RBI groundout, and two batters later, Dylan Jones walked with the bases loaded. Nick Oddo followed with a two-run single to right, before Nick DiBenedtto reached on an error which allowed the next run to score, and Parenty drove in the final run of the inning on a sacrifice fly.

The Crushers answered with a run in the bottom of the first. Kewby Meyer reached on a two out single, moved to second after Sean Hurley walked and Cody Lenehan drove Meyer home with a two out RBI single to right.

The two teams exchanged runs in the second. Oddo belted a run scoring single to plate Ty Moore in the top of the second, and the Crushers plated their second run of the game on Aaron Hill's sacrifice fly which plated Bryan DeLaRosa.

Schaumburg tacked on another run in the top of the fourth inning. Godfrey walked to start the inning and came around to score on Jones's RBI single down the line in left.

Lake Erie plated a pair of runs in the bottom of the ninth. Kevin Lachance started the inning with a walk and came around to score on Hill's RBI triple to the gap in right center. Hill came home moments later on Meyer's RBI groundout.
