Utah Grizzlies News Release

Las Vegas, Nevada - The Las Vegas Wranglers scored three first period goals to defeat the Utah Grizzlies (15-12-2-1) 4-1 Saturday night at the Orleans Arena.

Utah struggled with penalties, turnovers and play in their own end in the first period as the Wranglers took advantage to build the 3-0 lead.

The Grizzlies replaced goaltender Beau Erickson with Mitch O'Keefe to start the second period and then added a five-on-three goal from Brock Wilson, assisted by Ryan Kinasewich to make it 3-1 with 2:31 gone by in the middle frame. The Grizzlies however, were unable to take advantage of their final three power-plays of the period and 3-1 remained the score at the second intermission.

The Wranglers added an insurance goal and clinched the contest with a Robbie Bina score with 6:57 left in regulation to make it 4-1 and that would be the final.

Mitch O'Keefe stopped 17 of the 18 shots he saw in the contest and Ryan Kinasewich extended his team season-high scoring streak to eight in the process.

Utah and the Wranglers rematch Sunday in Las Vegas at 3:05 p.m.

The Grizzlies return home Friday, January 22 to host Ontario at the E-Center at 7:05 p.m.
