Battle Creek Battle Jacks News Release

Wausau, WI - The Battle Creek Bombers fell behind 8-0 after the first 3 innings and couldn't make the comeback, dropping the 2nd game of the series to the Wisconsin Woodchucks 9-5.

The Woodchucks got to starting pitcher Kyle Teague (Grand Valley State) early in the game. Errors didn't help Teague's cause, and he was chased after just 4 innings. Caleb Vincent came on in relief and threw 3 perfect frames to keep the Bombers in the game.

Battle Creek scored 4 runs in the 8th inning in the comeback effort, but was not enough. Ben Burke came out of the bullpen for the Woodchucks and finished the job. Leading the way offensively for Battle Creek was Kyle Figgins. He finished with 2 hits and an RBI.

The Bombers try to avoid the sweep tomorrow night by sending Joe Battistelli to the mound. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:35 ET.

The Battle Creek Bombers are members of the prestigious Northwoods League that has more teams, plays more games, and draws more fans than any other summer collegiate baseball league in North America.
