Slapshot\'s Essay Search Begins

Reading, PA – The Reading Royals, in cooperation with their mascot Slapshot, are giving kids in Berks County an opportunity to win free tickets to a Reading Royals home game.

All children attending a Berks County elementary school are encouraged to participate. Each student will write an essay on Why his/her classmates deserve free tickets to a Reading Royals hockey game. Upon completion of each essay, students can send their essay to: Reading Royals, Attention: Slapshot's Essay Search, P. O. Box 1216, Reading, PA 19603-1216. Slapshot will determine a winning essay for each of the four designated Royals home games. The winning student will receive free tickets for his/her entire school, a visit from Slapshot and a Royals player, a Royals prize pack and drop the puck prior to the game. Reading looks to break a two-game slide this weekend as they travel to Atlantic City on Saturday afternoon to battle the Bullies at 2:05 p.m. in Historic Boardwalk Hall. Reading returns home on Sunday to face Toledo at 5:05 p.m. Sunday's are Comcast Family Four Pack Nights...Fans get four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas for just $44.
