Bullies Battle Back For Shootout Win Tuesday Night

Dayton, OH – The Dayton Bombers dropped a 4-3 shootout decision to the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies in front of 1,410 at the Nutter Center Tuesday night.

The Bombers opened a 1-0 lead when TYLER KOLARIK beat Bullies goaltender Trevor Koenig for his team-leading 15th goal of the season at 13:59 of the first period, and Dayton led 1-0 after 20 minutes.

Scott Horvath tied the game, 1-1, at 4:05 of the second period, before TYLER SCOTT gave the Bombers a 2-1 lead at 10:37 of period two. Dayton's first two-goal lead of the night came when MATHIEU BRUNELLE made it 3-1 at 14:31. The Bullies comeback began when Colin Shields scored back-to-back goals at 16:45 of the second period, and 6:59 of the third period to tie the game, 3-3.

There was no scoring in overtime, and Paul Caponigri scored the only goal in the shootout as Atlantic City rallied for the 4-3 win.

The Bombers are back in action this Friday night when the travel to Peoria to face the Rivermen. The "Coaches Corner Pre-Game Show" starts at 8:20 PM (EST) from the Peoria Civic Center on 980 Homer, The Sports Animal and at daytonbombers.com.
