
Quenneville and Calder Named Charter Members of Ice Pilots/Subway Hall of Fame

Pensacola, FL - The Pensacola Ice Pilots are proud to announce that Chad Quenneville and Shane Calder will be inducted as the "Charter Members" of the Ice Pilots/Subway Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 26th during Subway Alumni Night between the first intermission of the Ice Pilots home game vs. Mississippi at 7:05 p.m. The game will follow the Subway Alumni Game which begins at 5:05 p.m.
Quenneville played center and was captain for the Ice Pilots during the first three seasons from 1996-1999. He played in every game for the Ice Pilots during the regular season and playoffs in the organization's first three years. Quenneville played in a total of 210 regular season games scoring 93 goals, 134 assists for 227 points and picked up 127 penalty minutes. He also played in 31 playoff games scori! ng 10 goals, 14 assists for 24 points picking up 24 penalty minutes.
Quenneville was a member of the Ice Pilots Southern Conference Championship team during the 1997-98 season helping the Ice Pilots reach the 1998 Kelly Cup Finals. He holds Ice Pilots all time records in goals (93), assists (134), and points (227) along with 33 power play goals.
Quenneville lives in Pensacola and works as an investment adviser with UBS Financial Services. His wife's name is Beverly. He currently has two kids Tanner who is 6 years old and one year old Alexa. Chad and his wife are expecting a new born baby tomorrow. He is from South Hadley, Massachusetts and is 32 years old.
Calder played right wing for the Ice Pilots for four plus seasons from 1996-2000 and was the last original Ice Pilot to leave the team. He played in a total of 270 regular season games scoring 71 goals, 101 assists for 172 points and picked up 764 penalty minutes. Calder also played in 32 playoff games scoring 9 goa! ls, 5 assists for 14 points and picked up 116 penalty minutes.
Calde r was a member of the 1997-98 Southern Conference Championship team scoring "The Biggest Goal in Ice Pilots History to Date" a double overtime winning goal in Game Six of the Southern Conference Championship to help the Ice Pilots win the Southern Conference Championship and play in the Kelly Cup Finals.
Calder holds Ice Pilots regular season team records in games (270), penalty minutes (764) and is tied with 14 all time game winning goals. Calder also holds the Ice Pilots play off records in games played (32), penalty minutes (116) and is tied with 2 playoff game winning goals. Calder was an alternate captain for the Ice Pilots during his third season and represented Ice Pilots in the all star game during the 1998-99 season.
Calder lives in Pensacola and co-owns Leader Board Tournament Systems. He is from Portage la Prairie, Manitoba and is 30 years old.
Quenneville and Calder along with Harold Hersh, Craig Brown, Eon MacFarlane, Christian Sbrocca, Martin &q! uot;Choo Choo" Chouinard, Andrew Rodgers, Scott LaGrand, Scott Malone and Kelly Hultgren and Ice Pilots owner Tim Kerr will participate in the Subway Alumni Game on Saturday, February 26th at 5:05 p.m. Members of the Jr. Ice Pilots, Senior League and local media will also participate in the game.
The alumni jersey auction is underway at www.icepilots.com. Fans can bid on the special alumni jerseys that the Ice Pilots alumni and current players will be wearing on Subway Alumni Night at www.icepilots.com. The alumni jerseys are in the color of navy blue with the letter Pensacola written on the front of the jersey in gold with white trim. It is the first time ever that a jersey has been done like this in the organization. The minimum bid for the jerseys is $200 and the auction will go until Friday, February 25th at Noon central time.
Other miscellaneous game worn jerseys and non game worn jerseys will also be auctioned with the alumni jerseys. The winners of the alumn! i jersey will be able to have their picture taken with the players on Subway Alumni Night after the game.
The Ice Pilots next two home games are this Friday and Saturday night vs. Texas at 7:05 p.m. The Ice Pilots have the best record in the ECHL at 30-11-4 for 64 points and are on an eight game winning streak which is the longest in franchise history. Ice Pilots Head Coach Dave Farrish can pick up his 500th career regular season win with a win over Texas on Friday night.
Friday night is Church Night and Saturday Night is Scout Night. Fans can purchase individual game tickets in person at the Civic Center box office, at any Ticketmaster location, Charge by Phone at 434-7444 or through the Ice Pilots website at www.icepilots.com. For group tickets, season tickets and birthday parties, fans can call the Ice Pilots at 432-PUCK.
