Sioux Falls Skyforce News Release

SIOUX FALLS, S.D., Feb. 1 - The Sioux Falls Skyforce extended their winning streak to five games Friday night with a dominating 116-91 win over the visiting Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Charlotte Bobcats assignee Jermareo Davidson led the way for the Skyforce with a season-high 22 points and 13 rebounds in his third game with the team.

"(Davidson) is really skilled for his size, he had a great game tonight," said Skyforce head coach Nate Tibbetts. "He's really getting used to being around our team a little bit."

Sioux Falls looked like the superior team from the opening tip as they jumped ahead early to lead 30-13 after the end of the first quarter. Fort Wayne could never catch up from there on and struggled offensively the entire game. The Skyforce continued to roll in the second half by dominating at both ends of the court. Sioux Falls outscored Fort Wayne 37-20 in the third quarter to take a commanding 91-62 lead into the fourth. Sioux Falls outrebounded Fort Wayne 62-33 for the game and took 29 more shots.

Carl Elliot and Kasib Powell added 17 and 18 points respectively for Sioux Falls. Minnesota Timberwolves assignee Chris Richard scored 10 points to go along with 11 rebounds in his first game with the Skyforce. After being the only team in the D-League without an NBA assigned player for most of the season, Sioux Falls now has two in Davidson and Richard.

"(Davidson and Richard) got sent down at the right time," said Tibbetts. "You hope for one (assignee) and we got two."

Fort Wayne was led by Eric Smith who scored 21 points off the bench while Detroit Pistons assignee Cheikh Samb had 15 points and seven rebounds.

Sioux Falls will try for a repeat performance tomorrow night against Fort Wayne with tipoff scheduled for 7 p.m. The Skyforce and Mad Ants are 2-2 against each other this season with the home team winning every time.
