Skyforce Bounce Back at Home against Suns

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce (9-2) got back into the winning column at home with a 127-106 victory over the Northern Arizona Suns (2-10) on Friday night at the Sanford Pentagon.

Miami HEAT two-way player Yante Maten (30 points, 13-14 FT) notched his fourth 30 point game of the season and extended his career-high in free throws made.

Miami HEAT two-way player Duncan Robinson (22 points, 5-10 3FG) found his touch early, scoring 12 points on three-of-four three-point field goals in the first quarter alone. However, Peter Jok (15 points and nine rebounds) helped Northern Arizona trim the deficit to just four points heading into the second period.

The Skyforce opened the second quarter on a 20-8 run, behind 14 points from Maten. Daxter Miles, Jr. (16 points and four assists) kept the Suns within striking distance, finishing with 10 first-half points, Sioux Falls took a 58-47 lead into the break.

Raphiael Putney (19 points, eight rebounds and three blocks) paced a Skyforce offense that dropped 38 points in the third quarter to push the lead to 20 points heading into the final period of play. Malik Newman scored a career-high 23 points off the bench while Rodney Purvis added 10 more on the night to put the game on ice in the fourth quarter.

Jawun Evans (30 points, eight assists, six rebounds) led the way for Northern Arizona, while LaQuinton Ross (11 points) was the only other Suns player to score in double figures on the night.

The Skyforce now head west for two games, traveling to Stockton, California to take on the Kings (5-4) on Sunday, December 2 before visiting a hot Santa Cruz Warriors team on Wednesday, December 5.

Northern Arizona will look to bounce back tomorrow night in Des Moines against the Iowa Wolves (3-6) before returning home to face the Austin Spurs on Tuesday, December 4.
