
Skyforce Acquire Tai Odiase

SIOUX FALLS, SD - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired forward Tai Odiase off of waivers. Odiase, a 6-9, 240-pound forward out of Illinois-Chicago, will wear No. 13 for the Skyforce.
Prior to being acquired by Sioux Falls, Odiase appeared in 11 games (two starts) for GS Lavrio of the HEBA A1 league in Greece, averaging 3.6 points and 2.5 rebounds in 12.9 minutes per game. Odiase also appeared in two Europe Cup Qualifying games for GS Lavrio, averaging 4.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 1.0 blocks in 14.8 minutes per game.
Odiase played four years collegiately for Illinois-Chicago, where he appeared in 130 games (118 starts) while averaging 8.9 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game. Odiase earned Horizon League Defensive Player of the Year honors in both 2017 and 2018, while making the Horizon League All-Defensive Team three years straight from 2016-18.
Odiase appeared in four NBA Summer League games with the Phoenix Suns in 2018, averaging 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds in just over eight minutes per contest prior to heading overseas. Odiase's first opportunity to suit up for the Skyforce will come in tonight's game against the Oklahoma City Blue.
