Sky Carp Shut Down by Chiefs 4-1

May 10, 2024 - Midwest League (MWL)
Beloit Sky Carp News Release

BELOIT - In front of one of the largest early-season crowds in ABC Supply Stadium history, the Sky Carp fell short Friday night, losing to the Chiefs 4-1.

The crowd of 2,642 nearly received a huge thrill in the bottom of the eighth. With the Sky Carp trailing 4-1 and two runners aboard, Mark Coley hit a ball to the base of the wall in center field, only to have Won-Bin Cho haul it in.

The Chiefs scored three runs, two of them unearned, against Karson Milbrandt in the top of the fourth inning.

The Sky Carp scored their only run in the seventh on an RBI grounder from Torin Montgomery. The home team did get excellent bullpen work from the trio of Josh White, Kyle Crigger and Ignacio Feliz. Those three allowed just one earned run in four innings.
