Sky Carp Cruise to 9-0 Victory

BELOIT - The Beloit Sky Carp played perhaps their most complete game of the season Thursday night at ABC Supply Stadium.
An enthusiastic crowd of 940 enjoyed Witches and Wizards Night and Thirsty Thursday, while Alex Williams put together a vintage performance on the mound and the Sky Carp's offense erupted for 14 hits in an 9-0 victory over Quad Cities.
Williams pitched seven innings of scoreless ball, allowing only two infield singles to the River Bandits. He struck out seven and walked just two to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Meanwhile, the Beloit offense provided him with plenty of support. Beloit began the scoring on an RBI grounder from Davis Bradshaw.
The Sky Carp extended the advantage to 4-0 in the fourth on an RBI double by Cam Barstad and a two-run triple from Bradshaw.
Kahlil Watson provided the game's top offensive highlight with a two-out grand slam in the sixth inning to extend the Beloit lead to 8-0.
Barstad capped his 4-for-4 evening with an RBI single in the seventh inning to make it 9-0.
Beloit and Quad Cities will do battle again Friday night with a 6:35 contest. There will be a fantastic fireworks show to follow the game!
The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
