Nashville Predators Executive Vice President/General Manager David Poile announced today that the club has signed free-agent left wing Reid Simpson. The Admirals meanwhile announced that left wing Mitch Fritz has been released from his 25-game contract and defenseman Andrew Hutchinson has been reassigned to Toledo (ECHL).

Simpson has posted five goals, two assists (5g-2=7pts) and 29 penalty minutes in nine games with the Admirals this season after joining the team on November 15. The 6-2, 216-pound Flin Flon, Manitoba native will join the Predators for their game Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes.

Fritz scored three points (1g-2a) and accumulated 33 penalty minutes in 13 games with Milwaukee. Hutchinson is tied for the team lead among defensemen in goals scored with two and notched four points (2g-2a) and no penalty minutes in 12 games.

The Admirals conclude their seven-game road trip Wednesday night in Norfolk. The team returns to the Bradley Center Friday night to take on the Chicago Wolves at 7:12pm.
