Stockton Heat News Release

San Diego, Calif. - The Stockton Heat finish a two-game series on back-to-back nights with the San Diego Gulls with a 5-4 victory in overtime at the Valley View Casino Center thanks to Emile Poirier's second goal of the evening. For Poirier, it was his first overtime winner with Stockton and his second multi-goal game of the season. He did have help though, as Turner Elson, Kenney Morrison and Hunter Shinkaruk scored the other three goals in an offensive explosion for the Heat on their way to two points. Goaltender Kent Simpson also showed up for one of his most impressive performances in a Heat sweater, making six saves in the overtime frame to help seal the deal for Stockton. The Stockton Heat will return home for their next four games, starting Wednesday when the San Jose barracuda travel to Stockton Arena.
