RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has reassigned forwards Brock McGinn and Derek Ryan to the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

McGinn, 22, and Ryan, 29, were recalled from Charlotte on Monday, and played in the team's games at New Jersey on Tuesday and at Tampa Bay on Saturday. Ryan became the oldest player in franchise history to score a goal in his first NHL game when he beat Cory Schnider during a Hurricanes second-period power play.
