Canes Recall Brendan Woods from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the team has recalled forward Brendan Woods from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Woods, 23, has scored eight goals, earned seven assists (15 points) and holds a Checkers team-best plus-6 plus/minus rating in 48 games played this year. The Humboldt, Sask., native is in his third full professional season, and has scored 26 goals and earned 27 assists (53 points) in 160 career AHL games with Charlotte. The Hurricanes drafted Woods (6'4", 210 lbs.) in the fifth round, 129th overall, in the 2012 NHL Draft. He made his NHL debut with Carolina during the 2014-15 season, playing in two games with the Hurricanes.
