
Silvertips' Late Goal Leads Them Past Pats, 3-2

Regina Pats News Release
Regina, Sask. - In their first visit in just over four years, the Everett Silvertips skated into Regina and beat the Pats 3-2 at the Brandt Centre. Austin Roest's goal with 1:19 left was the deciding factor for the visitors.
Jesse Heslop and Jasckson Berezowski also scored for the Silvertips in the win. Braden Holt stopped 27 of 29 Pats blasts in the Silvertip cage.
Borya Valis and Connor Bedard replied for the hometown Pats and Drew Sim stopped 21 of 24 Silvertips shots in the loss.
THE GOALS
First Period
EVT 0-1 at 15:40 - Jesse Heslop (2), assisted by Austin Roest and Dexter Whittle // Roest's shot from the top of the slot was stopped by Drew Sim, but the puck squeaked through to Heslop who buried the puck to make it 1-0 for the visitors.
Second Period
REG 1-1 at 10:07 - Borya Valis (4), assisted by Stanislav Svozil and Connor Bedard // The Pats worked the puck around the Silvertips zone and Svozil fired a cross-ice pass to Valis who ripped home a one-timer past Braden Holt to tie the game at 1-1.
EVT 1-2 at 12:04 - Jackson Berezowksi (10), assisted by Aidan Sutter and Olen Zellweger // While providing a screen in front of Sim, Berezowski tipped a point shot past Sim to restore the Stilvertips one-goal lead at 2-1.
REG 2-2 at 18:24 - Connor Bedard (11), assisted by Stanislav Svozil and Tanner Howe (PP) // Bedard's wrist shot from the circle beat an extremely well screened Holt to again tie the contest, this time at 2-2.
Third Period
EVT 2-3 at 18:41 - Austin Roest (10), assisted by Jackson Berezowski and Vincent Lamanna // With the Pats scrambling around their zone, the Silvertips took advantage as Roest put a shot to the Pats net that beat a screened Sim to give the visitors a late one-goal lead at 3-2.

Connor Bedard extended his point streak to 13 games (11G-13A-24PTS) with his goal and assist. He still leads the team in goals, assists, points, shots and penalty minutes.
Defenceman Corbin Vaughan returned to the lineup after serving his four-game suspension.
Borya Valis returned from a lower-body injury.
The Pats dropped their fourth straight game.
The Pats went 1/5 on the powerplay while going 5/5 on the penalty kill.

The Pats' next action is 4:00 PM tomorrow (Sunday), October 30th, where they take on the Tri-City Americans who will make their first visit to the Brandt Centre since the 2018-19 season.
