Everett Silvertips News Release

Everett, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips lost to the Swift Current Broncos 3-1 on Wednesday night, December 12th, at Comcast Arena at the Everett Events Center. It was the lone meeting of the regular season between the two teams and Swift Current remains one of just two Eastern Conference teams who have been victorious in Everett. The Silvertips record slips to 16-15-0-2 (34 pts) and they are tied with Seattle for third place in the U.S. Division.

The opening period looked as though it was going to finish as a scoreless one. However, Swift Current scored on a late power play at 19:34 when Jan Dalecky got the puck past Everett goaltender Shayne Barrie on a shot from the bottom of the left circle. The second period also went scoreless until late, but this time it was the Silvertips getting on the board.

Vitaly Karamnov knocked the puck in with it just sneaking inside the right post and behind Broncos goaltender Ian Curtis at 18:09. The score would remain tied until the middle stages of the final 20-minutes. That's when Eric Felde picked up the game winning goal at 10:55; Zack Smith completed things with an empty-net, power play goal at 19:52

The Silvertips will finish up the first half of their regular season schedule this coming weekend with a trio of games. Friday night they will be in Kennewick to take on the Tri-City Americans at 7:05 p.m. They then have a home-and-home series against the Portland Winter Hawks: Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at Comcast Arena at the Everett Events Center and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum in Portland.
