Hockey Canada and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) announced today the 22 players that will make up Canada's National Junior Team for the upcoming 2008 IIHF World Junior Championship. Among those named was Moose Jaw Warriors Captain Riley Holzapfel.

The 2006 NHL Draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers is no stranger to International competition as he has represented Team WHL twice in the ADT Canada Russia Challenge. The 5'11, 185lb native of Regina, SK is sure to bring leadership to the ice in the Czech Republic.

Holzapfel talent has been on Hockey Canada's radar for some time as he attended Canada's National Junior Team development camp in August 2006 as well as Canada's National Summer Under-18 Team Selection Camp in August 2005.

The Moose Jaw Warriors would like to congratulate Riley with being given the honour of representing his country and wish him the best of luck in the Czech Republic.
