Silvertips Announce Full 2016-17 Regular Season Schedule

EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips (@WHLSilvertips) announced today their 2016-17 regular season schedule for their 14th season in Snohomish County. The Silvertips will open the schedule with a "home-and-home" series against the Vancouver Giants, launching Friday, Sept. 23 in Langley, B.C. at 7:30 p.m. followed by the Silvertips home opener against the Giants, Saturday night at 7:05 p.m. at XFINITY Arena.
The Silvertips 72-game regular season schedule is available.
Priority seating and guaranteed home opener tickets are now available by placing a $50 deposit for Silvertips season ticket or mini-plan packages (available in full season, 22-game or 14-game plans) at www.everettsilvertips.com/season or by calling (425) 252-5100.
All Silvertips home games are at XFINITY Arena, scheduled for the following times:
7:05 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and Saturdays
7:35 p.m. on Fridays
4:05 p.m. on Sundays
2:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16
The Silvertips home opener revives an XFINITY Arena opener between Everett and Vancouver, facing off for the third time (Silvertips are 1-1-0-0) under home schedule opening conditions in downtown Everett. Most recently on Sept. 26th, 2009, Shane Harper's shootout-winning goal lifted the Silvertips to a 4-3 victory over the Giants in downtown Everett. The Silvertips are 6-5-1-1 in home openers, all-time and defeated the Spokane Chiefs, 5-4 in sudden death overtime last season to open the regular season home schedule at XFINITY Arena.
Among the highlights for the 2016-17 schedule:
22 of 36 Silvertips home games at XFINITY Arena will be played on a Friday or Saturday
Home opener on Saturday, Sept. 24 vs. Vancouver (7:05 p.m.)
The first matchup of the season against the Seattle Thunderbirds, Saturday, Oct. 15 (7:05 p.m.), a rematch of last season's second round battle in the WHL Playoffs - scheduled for the Silvertips annual "Pink The Rink" event
The first home matchup of the season against the Victoria Royals, last season's winner of the Scotty Munro Trophy for best WHL regular season record, Saturday, Oct. 29 (7:05 p.m.)
The first home matchup of the season against the Portland Winterhawks, Saturday, Nov. 5 (7:05 p.m.), the first time Portland visits Everett since the Silvertips sweep of the Winterhawks in the opening round of last season's WHL Playoffs
A special Martin Luther King Jr. matinee game at XFINITY Arena against the Kelowna Rockets, Monday, Jan. 16 (2:05 p.m.)
The Silvertips lone matchup of the regular season against the Brandon Wheat Kings, last season's WHL champions, Friday, Feb. 10 in Brandon, MB.
The Silvertips road circuit against teams from the East Division, a six-game road trip, starting in Brandon and ending in Swift Current on Saturday, Feb. 18
The Silvertips regular season home finale, Saturday, Mar. 18 (7:05 p.m.) against the Victoria Royals
