EVERETT, Wash. - The Everett Silvertips have officially acquired goaltender Tyler Palmer in a trade with the Victoria Royals in exchange for goaltender Braden Holt.

Palmer, an '03-born Fernie, B.C. native, finished with solid numbers last season despite backstopping a Royals club that missed the postseason. He posted a 17-23-2 record with a 3.49 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage. Prior to playing in the Western Hockey League, Palmer played at the U18 level with the Northern Alberta Xtreme in 2019-20, where he was teammates with current Silvertips forward Ben Hemmerling. He also played two seasons in the AJHL with the Spruce Grove Saints in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

Holt, 19, appeared in 28 games this season with the Everett Silvertips, logging a 13-13-1 record with a 3.57 goals-against average and a .892 save percentage. All told, he finished with a 42-22-5 record as a member of the Everett Silvertips, dating back to his WHL debut in the 2019-20 campaign.

"We'd like to thank Braden for his time and efforts in Everett," commented Silvertips general manager/head coach Dennis Williams. "He has been a staple in our community. Braden is a model citizen and we wish him all the best in Victoria."
